“Education is for the mind,
what experience is for the soul”
- Casey Neistat

Hello, I’m Ron Jaxon Auer — Ron to my family and Jaxon to my friends. My passion for storytelling has been with me since my early years. I began filming a protest in middle school, which made it onto local news, and later directed a five-person crew on the Brooklyn Bridge in high school. Throughout these experiences, I realized how much I loved capturing and sharing stories.

As a senior in high school, I applied to several film programs and was accepted into Emerson College in Boston, where I started in the spring semester. My time at Emerson was challenging, shaped by a competitive and contemptuous student atmosphere. Still, I valued the education and the school’s reputation enough to persist. Unfortunately, neither would matter much, as by the time I graduated, the world had been struck by a global pandemic. Like many graduates, I found myself feeling uninspired and directionless. With the film industry at a standstill, I took on various service jobs to save money. Though these roles weren’t related to my degree, they helped me develop valuable universal skills—time management, multitasking, and goal-setting—that have since proven essential in every aspect of my life.

After two years of service jobs I became restless. Fearful of wasting my potential, I began creating again. While lockdowns were easing, media opportunities remained scarce, so I decided to create my own. I used the savings from my service jobs to invest in myself, booking a group trip to Costa Rica. This experience was transformative in many ways—not just for its teachings in community, adventure, and discovery, but also for solidifying my passion for storytelling and collaboration.

Since that trip, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of people—contractors, travelers, weekend warriors, and everyday folks—all united by the desire to share stories and make new ones. While my filmmaking journey hasn’t always been lucrative, it’s constantly pushing me to engage more deeply with the world around me. Though I’m not yet where I hope to be, I’m proud of what I’ve achieved in spite of the challenges. This website is a reflection of that journey and the progress I’ve made. Happy exploring.
