SHORT STORY
I’m Ron Jaxon Auer—Ron to family, Jaxon to friends. I’m a multidisciplinary creative from New Jersey. After studying media arts and publishing at a prestigious college, falling out of love with the arts and art people, surviving a pandemic, and funding a life reset with dead-end job paychecks, I recommitted to storytelling through travel and video.
I work with business owners, travelers, and everyday people who want to share their stories. When I’m not doing that, I share my own. And when I’m not doing either of those things, I may be in a mall as a sales associate or outside as a zip-line guide, earning money for more adventures that I can live and capture. This site is a living archive of curiosity, movement, and moments worth remembering. Happy exploring.

LONG STORY
Hello, I’m Ron Jaxon Auer—Ron to family, Jaxon to friends. I was gifted my first video camera in middle school, and that same year, I filmed a school protest that made local news. In high school, I attended a creative arts camp in Brooklyn, where I filmed and directed two short films I wrote. These early experiences made me think I may like a career in film. I went on to earn my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in media arts production with a minor in publishing at Emerson College in Boston, MA. Sadly, I did not enjoy my time there due to the competitive and toxic environment. Despite this, I persisted, valuing the education and reputation of the school. Unfortunately, neither would matter much, as by the time I graduated, the world had been struck by a global pandemic, leaving many of us adrift…
To support myself, I worked various jobs—lifeguarding, retail, and food service. While these roles helped me develop important skills like diligence and consistency, they didn’t align with the path I had envisioned. After 18 months, I reached a breaking point. Determined not to waste my potential, I began creating again, launching my YouTube channel and documenting my solo trips. That spring, I used savings from my service jobs to fund a trip to Costa Rica. This experience was transformative in many ways—not just for its teachings in community and discovery, but also for solidifying my passion for storytelling and adventure.
Since then, I’ve actively sought out new experiences while honing my craft. I’ve worked with business owners, travelers, weekend warriors, and “Average Joe’s” - all of whom want to share their story and make new ones. Still, my greatest joy has been documenting my own adventures, capturing the moments and memories that truly resonate with me. My filmmaking journey hasn’t always been lucrative but it’s pushed me to engage more deeply with the world. This website is a testament of that journey. Happy exploring.
